«Gouverner c’est prévoir» – the catchphrase shaped by the French journalist Emile de Girardin (1806–1881) could also be described as the political maxim of Dr. Klaus Tschütscher, who was a member of the government of the Principality of Liechtenstein from 2005 to 2013. From 2005–2009, he held the function of Deputy Prime Minister with the portfolios of Economy, Justice and Sports. On March 25, 2009, Tschütscher was elected Prime Minister and until 2013 was responsible for the governmental departments of Presidency, Finance, as well as Family and Equal Opportunities. For Klaus Tschütscher, political leadership means looking ahead and moving prudently toward clear goals.
As Prime Minister, in particular, he did this persistently, sometimes even stubbornly and against various oppositions, because the reforms he initiated were, in his firm conviction, of eminent importance for the future viability of the country. The long-term orientation and the consistent pursuit of goals to safeguard interests also characterize his current activities as an entrepreneur and consultant to organizations in the private sector as well as in politics and public institutions. Klaus Tschütscher is active as consultant and journalist, a sought-after speaker and the recipient of various international awards.
